#17: The Poetic Storyteller

This week's episode you're in for a treat! Meet Cherlnell Lane, a roaring fire, under a cool demeanor, with a kind soul that she shares authentically in hopes of healing the world. She uses her words to bare her soul and heal yours.

As a speaker, facilitator, and poetic-storyteller, Cherlnell started her business, Cherlnell Lane LLC, to advocate for and uplift Black women. Her company is home of the Cookie Jar Open Mic online, a bi-weekly event that showcases writers and performing artists.

Cherlnell uses her life experiences to touch people through her blog, spoken word, and curriculum. She created the wildly successful Writing Through It Workshop and Healing Through It Summit to facilitate conversations with women to reveal, deal, and heal from trauma, while recognizing strengths and positive experiences.

Her first two books; Confessions of the Other Woman and Tales of an Undiscovered Writer, written under the pseudonym, Cookie Battles, are collections of her poetry and short stories available on Amazon.

In this episode learn what drives Cherlnell to reach new levels, and how she inspire people with her artistry, projects, and words. Pull out your comfy chair and fluff your pillows for a good story.

In this episode Cherlnell shares:

  • How her community and ancestors have helped to hold her accountable and keep going in spite of her doubts.

  • What it took for her to feel comfortable to call herself an entrepreneur, and why she makes it her mission to have fun.

  • Her guilty pleasure, and what she does to relax and feel inspired.

  • Two things we randomly found out to have in common that completely solidified our friendship for life.

  • Tips on how to create a safe and intimate space for women in her workshops.

  • A new hot off the press exclusive that she’s sharing with me first!
