Our nights together in Ghana will be spent in the beautiful and enchanting private Villa, Bamboo House, tucked away in a secure suburb of Accra close to downtown. Feel pampered in a single or double room.
This beautifully structured and spacious premier private Villa offers a private outdoor pool, functional kitchen, wifi, and AC.
The Cuisine
You’re not ready for the mouth watering food! Enjoy daily authentic and healthy dishes like classic jollof, rice and beans, grilled tilapia, or fried plantains.

The Experience
The Ghana Art Retreat is the start of an amazing journey that’ll stay with you forever.
Day 1: Arrival at Kotoka International Airport. Transfer to villa and enjoy a memorable Welcome Dinner.
Day 2: Tour historic landmarks of Accra including Independence Square, and later meet an artist for a kente weaving workshop.
Day 3: Guided tour of W.E.B. DuBois Center, and meet founders of the Foundation of Contemporary Art-Ghana.
Day 4: Learn about the contemporary art scene in Ghana. Visit Gallery 1957, Artist Alliance Gallery, and visit artist studio.
Day 5: Visit Jamestown, Ghana’s oldest neighborhood, to see murals, street art, and traditional batik fabric dying workshop.
Day 6-8: Explore Cape Coast, Ghana’s central region, for a private tour of Elmina slave castle and the rainforest canopy walk.
Day 9: Travel outside of Accra to the home of an artist for a traditional arts workshop to learn about cocoa butter and soap making.
Day 10: Travel to the Krobo Odumase village for a glass beads workshop with a master artist at the Cedi Beads Factory.
Day 11: Enjoy a day of relaxation and hiking in the mountains at the Boti Waterfalls and Aburi Botanical Gardens.
Day 12: Last minute sightseeing in Accra before you transfer to the airport to catch your flight.

An initial $1,000 deposit will be due to secure your spot. Monthly payments are accepted after the deposit.
Refund Policy
If you have a change of plans, you can transfer your spot for the next retreat. If you want to experience something not on the itinerary, we’ll try our best to make it happen for you. We’re here to serve you.
Payments are non-refundable, but fully transferable. If you choose to pay in installments, your deposit payment is due once accepted into the Retreat. Payment will be deducted from your credit card provided monthly until paid in full and you’ll be emailed a receipt.

Meet Your Host!
Victoria Timpo is first-generation Ghanaian- American Painter, Curator, Educator, Founder of Kindred Creatives Collective, and host of the Creatives Making Moves Podcast.
She took her first solo trip to Ghana in 2011 to paint and work one-on-one with local artists. Ten months later she returned home with more confidence, growth in her painting skills, and a tribe of artists.
This trip had such a profound impact on her that she wanted other artists to experience the magic of Ghana. In 2021 she launched the first Ghana Art Retreat, born from a desire to build her own space for black women artists and invest in Ghana’s economy.
Victoria’s mission is to dismantle societal values and lack of financial support for black artists by uplifting and supporting black women art entrepreneurs. She wants more artists to live joyful and purpose-driven lives.
