#24: This Artist Makes Money
Hustle culture is real but it doesn't have to be your life.
Meet Destiney Powell, a self proclaimed visual storyteller, thriving full-time painter, and founder of Poetically Illustrated. Her figurative paintings are a visual representation of the beauty and essence of black women. Through her work, she hopes to inspire artists to follow their dreams, regardless of what the world says.
Destiney mastered systems in her business to balance her role as a mom homeschooling three kids and her art. She knew that she wanted more freedom to create, so she stopped taking commissions and began licensing her work to publishing companies. She immediately saw a shift in her energy and money flowed into her business.
Destiny is now committed to sharing with artists strategies to make money and have balance as creative entrepreneurs.
